We're offering two internships to work remotely on social media content marketing. The goal is to raise awareness of ACN and the services we offer through content marketing.
The aim is to make short, engaging videos that make neuroscience ideas and findings accessible to a wide audience. The content will come from previous LinkedIn posts that can be shortened into an accessible and fun video format. The goal is to produce two videos a week for sharing on Tiktok and IG. Essential skills include video editing, Tiktok/IG experience, and a passion for science communication.
The aim is to draft LI posts that make recent findings and developments in the field relatable to a general audience. This will focus on day-to-day experiences (e.g. jet lag, memory, nudges, advertisements, etc) rather than clinical neuroscience or mental health. The role involves drafting two posts a week: one based on a suitable news story that you will identify each week and the other based on a scientific article that will be provided.Essential skills include excellent writing (clear, concise, engaging),identifying or creating relevant imagery, and a passion for science communication. Both roles are 10 hours per week and unpaid. Please specifyin your application which role you are applying for. The initial duration is for three (3) months but may be extended.
For role one, please read this post and generate a short Tiktok-style video about it. It may not be possible to get all the details into a 30-60s video, so feel free to choose an aspect that would most interest people. Also, please send 1-3 examples of videos that communicate in an engaging way that you think might be appropriate models for your videos. These can be anytype of information sharing video (it doesn’t need to be science but it should be in the 30-60 second range). It is sufficient to just send the links to those videos along with 1-2 sentences explaining what you like about the styles / whythey would work for us. Please note, they don’t have to be your own videos –just examples of different styles that would be engaging and fun.
For role two, please read this paper and generate a LinkedIn style post about it. You can see examples of similar posts on Joe Devlin’s LinkedIn page. Also, please send links to 1-2 recent news stories where you include 1-2 sentences on the interesting neuroscience angle for a post. No need to actually draft any of those posts, though.
Please send your application in the form of an email to info@acnlabs.ac.uk by Friday, 27 September. We will review applications and get back to you asap.
